THE STORY

What awaits your team

A computer virus has taken control of every piece of modern technology — from electronic doors to the cars in the parking lot — and is threatening to finish humanity off with it. Your team is the last option: get through the captured city and disarm the virus before it is too late.

You work through a 2D world stage by stage, and it only moves if you move together. While part of the team overloads the servers to crack the doors open, the rest wedge them; you dodge hardware that has turned on you, solve puzzles and break captchas. Each stage ends with a code word for the captain, and the health bar belongs to the whole team.

Grandpa Pitt, who runs the old electronics shop, plus his grandchildren and his assistant Tony — the last holdouts, because vintage hardware is beyond the virus's reach. And in the finale, an extremely obsolete digital assistant.

Beat the final boss together. Or stay locked in the office while the city burns.

GAME STAGES

Inside the experience — 3 stages

Stage 1

Escape from the Office

It starts in an office whose electronic doors the virus has locked. You need to get out and reach the nearest old-electronics shop, which the virus cannot touch. Split the work: some players overload the servers to crack the doors open, the others wedge them before they slam. Then cross the parking lot dodging hardware that has turned hostile, and break the captcha that hands you the first code word.

Stage 2

Mystery of the Retro Shop

The forgotten electronics shop is the last safe ground left, because old hardware is immune. It is run by the eccentric Grandpa Pitt, along with his grandchildren and his assistant Tony. Talk through the plan with them, then hunt down every component for an old computer across the back yard and the stockroom, solving what guards each one. Assemble the machine in the basement for the second code word.

Stage 3

Final Battle

You arrive on the desktop of the old computer, surrounded by the icons of games you grew up with. Talk to the obsolete digital assistant to find out what beating the virus actually takes, then play through all five mini-games — arcade shooter, Pac-Man, minesweeper, Tetris, platformer. Each one hides a fragment of the code and only releases it on a clear. First team to assemble the code wins.

TEAM CHALLENGES

What your team actually does

Every task in the game is built for a group. Puzzles, traps, interviews and boss fights are tuned so no one clears them alone — someone has to spot it, someone has to say it, and everyone has to act on it.

MAKE IT YOURS

Customize Mission 8-Bit for your team

Three layers of customization. Make the game distinctly yours.

  • TYPE 1

    Your team as 8-bit sprites

Each team member becomes a recognizable 8-bit pixel sprite with custom palette, name tag, and a small idle animation. Used as the playable cast across all three stages. The sprite sheet ships with the package — teams reuse them for Slack emojis, internal newsletter mascots, holiday cards. One team made physical stickers.

  • TYPE 2

Your office as the opening setting

Stage 1's office layout maps to your real office — break room, meeting rooms, the corner with the bad WiFi. Adds an extra layer of recognition when the smart lock on the kitchen door turns hostile.

  • TYPE 3

    Your products as in-game items

The components Grandpa Pitt asks you to find in Stage 2 are themed to your real products. The killcode in Stage 3 is themed to your annual roadmap. Lands at kickoffs without anyone needing to explain the metaphor.

Most popular for: company anniversaries · Christmas corporate · major team celebrations
