HALLOWEEN · OCTOBER 15 – NOVEMBER 1

Halloween team events that are not a costume contest

The one date in the corporate year where a team will forgive you for being strange. Spend it on a story with actual stakes rather than a call where three people wear hats.

THREE FORMATS

One live session, a week of play, or a calendar

  • LIVE

    Big Game

A host brings everyone into the same story at the same time. The whole company in one session.

    70-90 min · live host · 5-10,000 players

    For this occasion

The workday before Halloween. In 2026 that is Friday, October 30.

  • ASYNC

    Marathon

The same story over 1-5 days. People play when their day allows, and the leaderboard closes at the end.

1-5 days · no host · any time zone

    For this occasion

A spirit week, October 26 to 30: a stage a day, with the finale on Friday.

  • DAILY

    Advent Calendar

A short task a day for 4 days to 3 weeks: shared canvases the whole company fills, photo contests and quick solo quizzes.

    4 days–3 weeks · 1–3 min a day · up to 50,000 players

    For this occasion

Three weeks of October, with the haunted house glowing by the party. A 4–5 day run still fits before October 31.

OUR PICKS

Our three picks for Halloween

Menace, folklore or a mystery: three levels of October mood, none of them horror.

  • Top pick

ABENTEUER · Big Game / Marathon

    Apocalypse

Die Welt geht unter. Ihr Team hat 90 Minuten

    Why it fits

The one we lead with in October. The menace is stylized, closer to a B-movie than a horror film, so it lands in every office and every culture.

    Inside the game

  • ABENTEUER · Big Game / Marathon

    Book of Awakened Nightmares

Ein altes Buch öffnet sich. Die Albträume erwachen

    Why it fits

The atmospheric option. Folklore and dark fairy tale in the Tim Burton vein: no gore, no jump scares.

    Inside the game

  • MYSTERIEN · Big Game / Marathon

    The Wintervald Hotel Mystery

Ein eingeschneites Hotel. Ein verschwundener Gast. Ihr Team ermittelt

    Why it fits

For the team that wants a mystery and no October horror at all. A snowed-in hotel, a missing guest, an investigation.

    Inside the game

What teams ask for

  • Atmosphere over gore. Something people can join from a family kitchen without explaining themselves.
  • A reason to turn the camera on that is not an order to turn the camera on.
  • One session that holds the whole team, not three staggered runs of twenty.

What to steer clear of

  • Anything that asks people to dress up. Half the team will not, and they will be the half that quietly leaves.
  • Horror that earns a complaint. Tension is the product, jump scares are a liability.

WHEN TO BOOK

Book in September, play the week of October 26

The date is fixed, so the calendar is the constraint. Four points on it that decide what you can still get.

  1. 1

    Late September

    Lock the date

The last week of October books out first, and the Friday before Halloween goes earliest of all.

  2. 2

    10 business days out

Last call for a customized game

Your branding, your leaders as characters, or your office rebuilt as the cabin. Anything custom needs ten business days.

  3. 3

    3 business days out

Last call for a live game

A hosted Big Game off the shelf. Two business days for a Marathon. The limit is the host's calendar, not the build.

  4. 4

    October 26 – 30

    Event week

Keep it under 90 minutes. Halloween energy fades fast after that.

Halloween events run October 15 to November 1, and the good slots go in late September. The last week of October books out first, and in 2026 Friday October 30 goes earliest of all.

MAKE IT YOURS

Make Halloween about your team

  • $1,000

    Your branding

Your logo and colors through the game world and on the final leaderboard.

  • $2,500

    Your people in the game

Your team as the response squad in Apocalypse: engineers at the power station, ops leads on the streets.

  • $5,000

    Your story

Your office as the cabin in Book of Awakened Nightmares, and your team legends as the cursed worlds.

Take one, or all three for $7,500. Any customization needs 10 business days.

MORE DATES

Other occasions worth planning now

  • DECEMBER PARTY · DECEMBER 1 – 22

The December party, for a company that is not in one room

The end-of-year event is the one everybody remembers and the one that ages worst. A quiz in a Zoom grid is not a party, and a happy hour excludes whoever has a family at six.

    See the occasion

  • COMPANY ANNIVERSARY · ON YOUR FOUNDING DATE

Company anniversary events that bridge year one and year ten

A milestone is the one event with a story already written: yours. The trap is that the story only belongs to the people who were there, and most of the company was not.

Questions we get

How close to Halloween can we still book?
Three business days for a live hosted game, ten if you want it branded or the story rewritten around your team. The constraint is the host's calendar, not the build.
Will people who hate Halloween still take part?
The games are mysteries and adventures with an October mood, not horror. Nobody is asked to be scared, and nobody is asked to perform.
Can we run it across time zones?
Yes. Either a live session at an hour that works for most, or a marathon where each person plays their own stage during their own day.
Is it too scary for a work event?
No. Apocalypse is stylized 2D menace, closer to a B-movie than survival horror, and Book of Awakened Nightmares is folklore rather than a slasher. Neither has gore or jump scares.
Can people play with cameras off?
Yes. Voice helps in a couple of stages, but nobody needs to be on camera. Plenty of teams coordinate in the in-game chat.
