ONE ROUND

Cards, cases, the vote

  1. 01 · Your hand

    Six cards about you

Job, age, health, hobby, luggage and one fact, plus a special condition. Only you can see them.

  2. 02 · Your turn

    Make your case

Explain why the shelter needs you and turn one card over. In round one, everyone reveals their job.

  3. 03 · The vote

    Someone stays outside

Ninety seconds of open debate, then a secret vote. The most votes stays outside, and the next round opens a new room.

The game ends when the people left match the seats. Then it works out whether the shelter survives.

CARDS

Six cards instead of a bio

Each kind has its own color, so you can see at a glance what a player has shown and what they're holding back.

  • JOB

    Surgeon, 12 years

  • AGE

    Woman, 28, pregnant

  • HEALTH

    Asthma, needs an inhaler

  • HOBBY

    Herbalism

  • LUGGAGE

    A hundred cans of stew

  • FACT

    Claustrophobic

No card wins on its own: medicine can come from a surgeon, a first-aid kit or an herbalist. More than a hundred person cards in the deck, and a hidden card can't be peeked at.

THE WORLD

Six disasters, twelve rooms

The disaster is known from minute one and decides what you can't survive without. The shelter shows a new room every round: a well that solves food, or an expired med bay that needs a medic.

  • Pandemic

  • Nuclear winter

  • The flood

  • Collapse and looters

  • New ice age

  • Invasion

One special condition each

Played during the debate. The organizer can switch them off.

  • Reveal

A player you pick turns over one card right now.

  • Swap

Trade a hidden luggage card with another player.

  • Redraw

Replace one of your hidden cards with a new one.

  • Double vote

Your vote counts twice in the next round.

  • Immunity

Nobody can vote you out in the next round.

  • Cancel

    The next vote doesn't happen.

THE FINALE

An ending you can argue about

The game checks what the disaster and the open rooms required against what the people inside cover, and shows every line: what was needed, who covered it and with which card.

  • The shelter held

  • Not everyone made it

  • It didn't last the first winter

Too many people who need carrying drops the ending a step. No dice involved, so you can explain it, and argue about it over coffee.

FAQ

Questions about Shelter Seats

Everyone gets six cards about their character. On your turn, you explain why the shelter needs you and reveal one card. After each round, the table debates and votes one person out. Rounds continue until the people left match the seats.

Four to twelve at one table. With more people, each team plays its own game at the same time.

No. The game runs the turns, the timers, the votes and the final count on its own.

The table wins or loses together. At the end, the game checks whether the people inside cover what the disaster and the shelter required, and shows each line: what was needed, who covered it and with which card.

Yes. Both are off by default, and the table has a chat for those who'd rather type.

Nothing. Players join by link from a phone or laptop, and the game opens in the browser.

With default timers: 20–24 minutes for six people, 31–37 for eight and 44–51 for ten. You can set from 2 to 7 rounds and adjust every timer.
