Top Answers for your team

The most popular answers to a question hide on the board. Players type their guesses in their own words from a phone or laptop, and the more popular the answer, the more it's worth.

  • Four ways to play: everyone for themselves, two team formats, or a solo run against the clock
  • Answers are typed, not picked from a list, and typos are forgiven
  • Build the board from your own team's answers with a short poll a week before
  • join by link or QR
  • 2 to 6 teams
  • browser, no installs

HOW A QUESTION PLAYS

One question in three steps

  1. 01

    A question goes up

For example: name something people bring to the beach. Up to six hidden rows sit underneath it.

  2. 02

    Players type a guess

In their own words, from a phone or laptop. Everyone gets three tries per question.

  3. 03

    The row opens

Whoever names it first takes the points, and their name appears on the row. The more common the answer, the more it is worth.

Repeating an answer that's already open doesn't cost a try. When time runs out, the whole board is revealed before the next question.

FORMATS

Everyone for themselves, in teams, or solo

The questions and the board stay the same. What changes is who answers and where the points go.

  • Everyone for themselves

One question for the whole room and three tries each. A row goes to whoever names it first, and the leaderboard updates after every row.

  • Teams: race

Each team gets its own room, and all teams answer the same board at once. One person suggests, teammates back it, and the answer goes in once it has the votes. Tries are shared.

  • Teams: classic

A face-off decides who takes control. That team keeps answering while its points build up in a bank. Three misses, and the other team gets one chance to steal the whole bank.

  • Solo on the clock

One person plays the questions alone, with no rivals and no shared start. The result is the points opened and the time it took, so it fits an advent calendar window or a marathon stage.

WHAT MAKES IT WORK

Made for a room full of people

Small details that keep the game fair and keep everyone guessing until the last question.

  • Your colleagues fill the board

Send a poll link a week before. No sign-up is needed, and only the answer itself reaches the board. Similar answers are merged, and each row is worth its share of responses.

  • Their words, not a list

Typos are forgiven, and synonyms can be added to any row ahead of time. A disputed answer goes to the organizer, who can accept it with one click.

  • Stakes rise toward the end

Set a question to double or triple points, or flip it: in a reverse round the rarest answer is worth the most. Teams that are behind stay in it until the last question.

  • In the office or online

The board on a projector with answers from phones, or on a shared screen with teams in their own rooms. It also runs over several days inside an advent calendar or a marathon.

FAQ

Questions about Top Answers

A question appears with up to six hidden answers underneath. Players type their guesses in their own words. A guess that matches a hidden answer opens that row, and whoever named it first gets the points. Everyone has three tries per question.

Nothing. Players join by link or QR code from a phone or laptop, and the game opens in the browser.

Typos are forgiven. Synonyms can be added to each row ahead of time, and a disputed answer goes to the organizer, who can accept it with one click.

Use ready-made questions, write your own, or poll your team a week before the event. With a poll, similar answers are merged and the six most common ones go on the board with one click.

Each team gets its own room. In the race format all teams answer the same board at once. In the classic format a face-off decides who takes control, points build up in a bank, and three misses let the other team try to steal it.

Yes. The solo format is built for that: one person plays the questions alone, and the stage score is the share of board points they opened.

It uses the same flat per-event ladder as every HeySparko game, from $550 for up to 15 people. The full ladder, customization and lead times are on the pricing page.
