THE STORY

What awaits your team

It is your first day and you walk straight into the meltdown. The server room is drowning in spam, the design floor caught a virus on its mood board, accounting is buried in product catalogs, and someone is already stringing lights on the roof. The anniversary party starts at sundown, and the only way up is through the entire building.

Every floor is a department with its own cast of coworkers and its own five-alarm problem. Each colleague comes with a short story and a puzzle nobody can finish alone. Solve it and they hand over a flash drive. Collect every drive on the floor and the elevator opens.

You will meet the IT guy who still has not worked up the nerve to ask the designer out for coffee, a client who wants a color that smells like rain and old books, a quarterly report that has to survive an obstacle course, and a colleague in a dinosaur suit who has misplaced the firework controls.

Four floors of chaos, one rooftop, and a firework your team sets off together.

GAME STAGES

Inside the experience — 4 stages

Stage 1

Floor 1 — Server chaos

The IT department: server racks, developers, testers, and balloons left over from last year's party. Monitors glitch, the supply closet is a landslide of hardware, and spam bots are pouring through the mail server. Clear the closet with a round of server-room Tetris, catch a critical bug across three monitors at once, hold off the spam waves, then coach the shyest developer on the floor through asking a designer out for coffee while the team keeps his nerve from bottoming out.

Stage 2

Floor 2 — Creative mess

Graffiti on the walls, towers of pizza boxes, mood boards everywhere, and colleagues asleep under desks. This floor lives in permanent deadline mode. Reassemble a collage that a virus blew apart before the timer runs out, mix a client the exact color that sounds like jazz in a bar, then produce a logo with soul — expensive, friendly, and with a cat in it, obviously.

Stage 3

Floor 3 — Everything counts, everything burns

Filing cabinets, adding machines, and product catalogs scattered through every drawer. Up here the world is measured in numbers and deadlines, and one colleague is physically stuck behind a wall of boxes. Price a hardware quote by hunting down the right catalog, solve office equations where coffee and donuts stand in for numbers, carry the quarterly report through a full-speed obstacle run, and talk the boss into a rooftop keycard.

Stage 4

Floor 4 — The party you earned

Sunset, string lights, a banner reading Congrats on surviving the year, karaoke, beer pong, and an inflatable flamingo. Colleagues from every floor are up here. The currency is no longer flash drives but firework triggers, and the coworker in the dinosaur suit has lost all three. Win at beer pong on two controllers, survive the strict manager's karaoke set by balancing crowd energy against his stress, then split up: three triggers, one 2:30 timer, all of them armed at the same moment.

TEAM CHALLENGES

What your team actually does

Every task in the game is built for a group. Puzzles, traps, interviews and boss fights are tuned so no one clears them alone — someone has to spot it, someone has to say it, and everyone has to act on it.

MAKE IT YOURS

Customize Office Chaos for your team

Three add-ons: $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000. Take one, take all three for $7,500.

  • TYPE 1

Your team as the office staff

The coworkers behind every desk become your actual colleagues. Your CTO is the one drowning in spam tickets, your designer is the one with the impossible client brief, and the new hire on their second week gets a storyline of their own. Recognition does most of the work here.

  • TYPE 2

    Your brand as the building

Your logo on the lobby wall, your colors on the meeting-room glass, your product on the shelves in the supply closet, your real tools on the monitors. For 90 minutes the office in the game is your office.

  • TYPE 3

Your year woven into the crises

The problems on each floor come from your actual year — the launch that nearly slipped, the migration everyone remembers, the client brief that became a running joke. Teams recognize the story two puzzles in, and the rooftop finale doubles as the anniversary toast.

Most popular for: company anniversaries · Christmas corporate · major team celebrations

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions about this game

What HR leads usually ask before booking Office Chaos.

70 to 90 minutes for the live Big Game: a five-minute intro and team split, then four floors of puzzles, then awards and analytics. Marathon mode opens the building for a 1-5 day window and players climb at their own pace, usually in 25-45 minutes of total play time.

By design. Every mini-game needs at least two people acting at once — three monitors watched simultaneously, sliders moved together, three firework triggers armed on a shared timer. A strong soloist cannot carry the floor, which is exactly what makes it useful as a team exercise.

Three to six players per team. The floor puzzles are tuned for that range: small enough that nobody hides, big enough that the team has to split up on the rooftop finale. Multiple teams run in parallel and appear on the same leaderboard, so company-wide events work fine.

No. The whole thing runs in the browser — Chrome or Safari recommended. Big Game adds one Zoom call for the host; Marathon needs nothing but the join link. No plugins, no admin rights, no app-store approvals.

It is one of the better ones. The premise is literally a first day at a new company: you meet a department, learn what it does, help with its actual work, and move on. New hires end the session having spoken to people from across the org rather than watching a slide deck about them.

A full analytics dashboard plus a per-floor breakdown of how each team worked. Because no puzzle is solvable alone, the data shows who coordinates, who communicates under a timer, and which teams reorganize when their first approach fails — signals that are hard to read in a normal work week.
