Thanksgiving team events for the week nobody can get everyone online
Half the team is travelling, the other half is covering. The event that works that week is short, warm and does not punish the people who miss it.
When to book
Thanksgiving events run November 18 to 26, and teams book from late October. The Tuesday and Wednesday before the holiday are the only two hours most companies can actually hold.
What teams ask for
- Short. Sixty minutes is the ceiling that week, and forty-five is safer.
- Something that carries gratitude without a round of forced sharing.
- A format that survives half the invited list being out of office.
What to steer clear of
- Anything that only works if everyone shows up. That week, they will not.
- A gratitude circle. The intent is right, the format makes people brace.
Questions we get
- What if only half the team can make it?
- Then run a marathon instead of a live session. People play their stage when they can, and the leaderboard is the shared moment rather than the hour.
- Is there a Thanksgiving-specific game?
- The seasonal fit comes from custom trivia and food-themed rounds rather than a separate title. Custom trivia can be written around your own team's year.
- How late can we book?
- Three business days for a hosted session, but the week itself is thin on host availability. Booking by mid-November is the safe move.

Playrix
- The brief
- A global mobile-games studio wanted an event their people would recognise as theirs, not as a vendor's template with a logo dropped on it.
